Akoya Pearls
The Akoya pearl is cultivated in Japan after an old tradition. Their color range offers shades of pink and champagne colors or in gold, silver and blue tones. Their luster is unique and mysteriously intense. Akoya pearls are perfect for necklaces and classic pearl jewelry.
Tahitian Pearls
The breeding of these pearls only succeeded in the late 70s. Their origin lies in the lagoons of the Tuamoto- and Gambier-Atolle of French Polynesia, where the oysters produce these unique pearls. The shading of the Tahitian pearl ranges from dark brown to black, and sometimes Silver. The rarest and most highly rated color is a dark green, which developes only in these pearls. The shapes of the Tahitian pearl are very diverse. They range from round, oval to drop shaped. Due to the rather limited supply of these pearls, which are in high demand Tahitian pearls are popularly processed as a single pearl. Necklaces with these pearls are among the most fascinating pieces of jewelry in the world.
South Sea Pearls
South Sea pearls are especially known for their diverse manifestations and peculiarities as well as for the exoticism of their origin. These rare treasures are characterized by their beauty and size (sometimes more than 20 mm). Their luster is delicate and has many shades of white, silver blue and gold. They are mostly bred in the desolate north-west coast of Australia and Indonesia and their breeding is very elaborate and expansive.
Keshi Pearls
Keshi pearls happen at random in the breeding of Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian pearls. The irregular and sometimes bizarre forms appear in the delicate shades of white, pink, gray and gold, like their relatives the Akoya and South Sea pearls.
China Pearls
Non-nucleated freshwater pearls are cultivated in China after a millennia-old tradition. They arise mainly in the tributaries and canals of the Yangtze. They are characterized by their refined shapes and delicate colors. Their sizes range from 2 mm to 14 mm. In comparison to all other cultured pearls these freshwater oysters can produce up to 40 pearls at one time. Therefore, the China-pearl and the jewels made with these pearls are a cheap alternative and can still compete with its diversity of form and color. The shapes range from round, oval to drop shaped and the delicate colors range from white, cream, salmon to orange or red-pink and lilac to violet.
