Immerse yourself in the world of the Korneuburg Basin some 16.5 million years ago. In the Adventure Museum you can discover the world’s biggest fossil pearl and get to know fascinating animals like dog-bears and sharks.
The world’s largest fossil oyster reef awaits you with an impressive multimedia show which brings this unique natural landmark back to life, taking you back to the village of Stetten in prehistoric times. Experience the former tropical paradise and follow its dramatic evolution!
The Adventure Museum’s temporary special exhibitions are dedicated to a changing cycle of new topics. The current exhibition is entitled “How It All Started” and explores the turbulent history of how Fossilienwelt came into being.

Crossing the primeval ocean, sliding down the Shell Tower, uncovering the Explorer Trail’s secrets: the Explorer Park offers a whole range of adventures. In the Primeval Rift, you can walk through thousands of years in just a few steps. And following the timeline will take you back several million years!

You won't find another place where as many fossils are hidden in the sand as at our Shark Bay. Dig, sift, and discover shark teeth and shells. And, of course, you can keep all your finds and take them home as souvenirs!
Get your ticket at the ticket office and start your exciting search for fossils that are millions of years old. You’re sure to find impressive relics of a long-ago era. Our Shark Bay is great fun for fossil hunters of all ages!
All finds that fit into the provided bag may be taken home.
Take a break and relax at the Beach Tavern. Enjoy regional refreshments before continuing on your adventure: refreshing drinks and delicious snacks for kids and adults make for a perfect holiday vibe!
Our shop has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. Fossils, books, games, jewellery … there’s something for everyone. Special souvenirs that will remind you of your day at Fossilienwelt and lovely presents for your friends and relatives are the perfect round-off to a beautiful day out!
Outside the holiday periods, we are open from Friday to Sunday. During school holidays and on public holidays, we are open every day. On all other days, the Fossil Café is open.
