Fossilienwelt for Adults

Enjoy a fascinating guided tour of our outdoor area and our interactive exhibition, the highlight being an impressive multimedia show at a stunning natural monument: the world’s largest fossil oyster reef with 15,000 fossilised giant oysters. 

Duration of the tour: approx. 1 hour

Group fee (for groups of 20 or more): €15.00 per person
This fee includes admission to the Adventure Museum and the Explorer Park, plus the guided tour. Admission to the sand bay is not included.
Admission is free for a driver and a tour guide accompanying groups of more than 20 people.

After a guided tour of the outdoor area and our interactive exhibition you will head to the sand bay, ready to start digging. Because now it’s time to get your hands dirty like a real palaeontologist, sifting through the sand to find as many fossils as possible. It’s all about the fun! At the end, everyone will be awarded their very own Palaeontologist Diploma.
Duration (including guided tour): approx. 2 hours

The sand bay cannot be accessed in heavy rain or after prolonged periods of rain. In such cases we reserve the right to offer the guided tour only.

Please note that, due to the special prices, we cannot accept the Niederösterreich-Card for group offers.

Important note for those suffering from allergies: due to the special climate in the Oyster Hall and the Primeval Rift, we cannot rule out the presence of mould spores there.

We are also happy to offer some tips on where to find culinary treats in the vicinity of Fossilienwelt that you can enjoy as a group.
