Details
Guided tour (Duration: approx. 1h):
The guided tour through Fossilienwelt teaches the kids all about the emergence and evolution of our planet, about animals and plants that used to live in the area surrounding the oyster reef 17 million years ago, and why geoscientists are able to exactly tell what life here used to be like back then.
In the museum, they can look at fossilised relics of animals and plants that used to dwell in the Korneuburg Basin. Our trained guides will adapt the content of our tour to the kids’ age and present the facts in a playful way. The tour comes to a spectacular conclusion with the impressive multimedia show at the world’s largest fossil oyster reef. The guided tour will take you through our indoor and outdoor areas. Our outdoor area is accessible for people with disabilities, with the exception of the Shell Tower.
Digging for fossils in the sand bay (Duration: approx. 1h):
Pearls, fossil shark teeth and shells are buried in the sand of our big sand bay, waiting to be discovered by the kids. The kids can use our big sifting pans to sift through the sand. And, of course, they can keep their finds and take them home as souvenirs!
Costs per child: €10.50
including the guided tour and admission to the sand bay. Free admission for 2 accompanying adults per 20 kids.
Please note that, due to the special prices, we cannot accept the Niederösterreich-Card for group offers.
After the programme, the kids can enjoy themselves in our outdoor area that includes a big playground, lots of fun ball runs and our interactive Explorer Trail.
